The Death Candidate: Why We Should Be Outraged By Mitt Romney

Willard Mitt Romney and his trained monkey Paul Ryan, are the most unqualified candidates for President and Vice President, in the history of our great nation.

I must say that the ignorance reflected in presidential candidate Willard Mitt Romney’s arrogant statement that “we don’t have people........who die in their apartment because they don’t have insurance,” makes me apoplectic. It’s an absolute outrage that any major party would nominate someone who is so far removed from reality, and real life.

The danger of nominating a multimillionaire vulture capitalist, is that you have a candidate with no compassion or empathy for the middle class or the impoverished. He doesn’t know the struggles and sacrifices that many  Americans must endure in order  to feed themselves a nutritious meal, put a decent roof over their head, and maintain good health. And that’s outrageous!

The man has promised to cut food stamps. Food stamps go to families and people who are working or unemployed, and are having trouble making ends meet. It’s not a hand out to lazy people who have their hand out. Programs like that were eliminated in the 1990’s.  How dare he decide to cut off that assistance, leaving people hungry. And that’s outrageous!

The man has promised to cut school lunch programs, that provide a hot lunch to kids who would go hungry otherwise. In many instances it’s the only meal some kids eat. How can he justify increasing a defense budget by 2 trillion dollars, while vowing to cut school lunches in order to do it? And that’s outrageous!

The man has promised to cut medicaid! Some of the things that medicaid provides is medication for the disabled, medical coverage for special needs children (that insurance companies refuse to cover), and pre-natal care for women lacking health insurance. It largely helps low-income Americans.

Medicaid is a joint federal and state program. The way medicaid works today, regardless of which state you live in, the federal government mandates the assistance each state must offer. Each state makes a financial commitment to medicaid, and the federal government matches the state expenditure.

The man says that he wants to change the program, and give states a block grant. A block grant is a pile of money with no strings attached. Each state can do whatever they want, and the federal government doesn’t have to get involved.

Under Romney’s plan, what do you think is going to happen to the young single mom in Mississippi, who relies on the pre-natal care for her unplanned pregnancy? The conservative state legislature doesn’t want to give pre-natal care to young single moms, and they can save money by shutting the program down.

Under Romney’s plan, what’s going to happen to the disabled HIV+ positive war veteran in Oklahoma, who relies on medicaid to pay for his doctor visits. The conservative state legislature thinks the war veteran is immoral, and they don’t want to include medical care for those who are HIV+ positive, and they can save money by shutting that program down.

Under any scenario, it’s absolutely criminal that a man publicly says that he wants to increase defense spending by 2 trillion dollars, and at the same time turn medicaid over to the states, so that they can do what they want.
And that’s outrageous!

Under any scenario, it’s absolutely criminal that a man says that he wants to increase defense spending by 2 trillion dollars, and repeal “Obamacare” (the Affordable Care Act), a program that will reduce the deficit - and expand health insurance to millions.
And that’s outrageous!

Willard Mitt Romney and his trained monkey Paul Ryan, are the most unqualified candidates for President and Vice President, in the history of our great nation.
And that’s outrageous!

And if you can’t tell, I’m outraged. Are you?
