Politics: Bigots, Right Wing Extremists Gather At Redneck Values Voter Summit And Straw Poll In Washington, DC

Teabagger Values Voter Summit Being Held Too
In Washington, DC today - the largest annual right wing political conference begins, and bigots and false prophets, and right wing extremists, from all over our nation are driving their pick up trucks and late model datsuns, to the Omni Shoreham Hotel, for the annual Values Voter Summit, being held from October 7-9 2011. What makes this convention unique, is that two of the organizations sponsoring this annual event - are two organizations that the Southern Poverty Law Center has categorized as a “hate group.” The Family Research Council, and the American Family Association, are in the same category of fringe radical groups as the Klu Klux Klan, and Aryan Nations.

Scheduled to speak before this august gathering of rednecks, racists, homophobes, and teabaggers, are virtually  every candidate currently running for the Republican nomination for President.  Seven of the eight candidates are speaking. By virtue of Jon Huntsman rejecting he invitation to speak before these people, he earns more points toward his Miss Congeniality crown. In addition to the 7 Presidential candidates scheduled to speak, House Speaker John Boehnor will be making a partisan speech, and so will House Majority Leader Eric Cantor.

There used to be a time when we held pour politicians to a higher standard, and expected them to set an example, and steer clear of hate groups. When did it become acceptable for candidates to fraternize, and make a speech for, bigots and racists? This warm embrace could come back and haunt these candidates, and maybe I'm just the guy to start the haunting. In the spirit of Halloween, I think you should join me. This is just the type of headache, Mitt Romney doesn't want.

I want to say thanks for commenting. I don’t think people say ‘thanks’ often enough and I know that it’s a big step to go from “lurker” to “participant”. It means a lot to me that you decided to take the time to comment on a post, and join the conversation here. I think we have a great community and your presence can only make it stronger.
