Gay 9/11 Hero’s Mom Rips Daly A New Asshole
Carson Daly said that gay men wouldn’t have been able to subdue the Jet Blue pilot who had a melt down during the flight. During his radio show, Daly said:
"Most
of them were on their way to some sort of security conference in Las
Vegas...it was like a bunch of...well-trained dudes, thank God. With my
luck, it would be like, 'This is the flight going to [the gay pride
parade] in San Francisco...'Uh, we're headed down to Vegas for the
floral convention.'"
Alice Hoagland, the mother of gay 9/11 Hero Mark Bingham challenged Daly and said:
“Yes,
[Mark] was known in our family for bringing me flowers on my birthday
and Mother's Day. He also was known for careening down the rugby pitch,
and, on the morning of September 11, 2001, for charging unarmed down the
aisle of a doomed Boeing 757. No one among his...team of fellow
passengers was asking, 'Are you straight? Are you gay?'...The world has
its share of strong, heroic gay men. Gay men in sports uniforms and
military uniforms have been winning America's games and fighting
America's battles for a long time: quietly, humbly, and in the face of
vicious bigotry."
Vicious bigotry indeed! Bravo Alice Hoagland!
Daly used twitter to apologize for his “joke.”
“This morning on my radio show I attempted to make fun of myself & offended others by mistake. I sincerely apologize.”
He made an ass out of himself. Stupid is as stupid does.
straight talk in a queer world.

I want to say thanks for commenting. I don’t think people say ‘thanks’ often enough and I know that it’s a big step to go from “lurker” to “participant”. It means a lot to me that you decided to take the time to comment on a post, and join the conversation here. I think we have a great community and your presence can only make it stronger.
