From Gay Star News:
“I think you can have a loving relationship of love and commitment and trust and understanding that doesn't need a marriage certificate. That's my life experience – so I'm speaking from that life experience.”
Well goody for her. Just because she feels that way about her relationship, why does she have to shove it down the throats of LGBT Australians who want to marry? The Prime Minister and her coalition government are promoting homophobia and inequality with this absurd position.
Isn’t life about choices? She has the choice to marry, or not marry. LGBT Aussie’s don’t have access to the same choices, or the same rights, and that's discriminatory.
Julia Gillard
The Labor party leader is the first Australian woman to serve as Prime Minister. She assumed office in June of 2010. The Prime Minister was born in Wales, and her family moved to Australia when she was five years old. She was raised in a Baptist household, and professes that she is an atheist. Gillard’s partner since 2006 is Tim Mathieson.

I want to say thanks for commenting. I don’t think people say ‘thanks’ often enough and I know that it’s a big step to go from “lurker” to “participant”. It means a lot to me that you decided to take the time to comment on a post, and join the conversation here. I think we have a great community and your presence can only make it stronger.
