Transgender College Hoops Player Is Inspiring Others

Gabrielle Ludwig

Gabrielle Ludwig, 50, is the center on the Mission College Lady Saints   basketball team. She is purportedly the first person to compete in college athletics for both genders. Her courage and determination serves as an inspiration to anyone struggling with gender identity

When she was asked what advice she would give to others who were dealing with challenges surrounding gender identity, Gabrielle said “stick with it no matter how many bumps in the road, or land mines you hit,  there is a light at the end of the tunnel.”

I think it’s amazing and fantastic that Gabby is playing college hoops, and doing so in such a public way - that she is bound to inspire and be a role model for others.

This video speaks for itself. I salute you Gabby Ludwig!

I want to say thanks for commenting. I don’t think people say ‘thanks’ often enough and I know that it’s a big step to go from “lurker” to “participant”. It means a lot to me that you decided to take the time to comment on a post, and join the conversation here. I think we have a great community and your presence can only make it stronger.
